About Your Guide,
Carol Penn-Romine

I love to explore different cultures and their cuisines. I started The Hungry Passport to share my love of food and travel with small groups of guests who are eager to experience a country or culture through its hospitality and cuisine.

I am a Certified Tour Professional, having trained at the International Tour Management Institute. I have led groups both large and small on tours in the United States, the Canadian Maritime provinces and Europe. As a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, I bring to my tours a knowledge of both food and the culture of food. I keep abreast of the culinary world through active memberships and participation in the International Association of Culinary Professionals, Slow Food International and the Culinary Historians of Southern California.

Over the years, I have shared with my guests the rich, autumny melt of candies made from maple syrup in Vermont; the surprisingly addictive spark of crispy, fried dill pickles in the South, and the New World energy of California's wines. Now my culinary journeys are carrying me to Europe, where I hope you'll join me as we explore new places and make new friends gathered around the table.

Cheers!

Carol
