I have learnt to embrace my oddly not-quite-square, not-quite-circle shaped pizza bases ... though i nearly threw the first one out!
Hi Food Sage!

Those were two valuable discoveries--that the canner made such a great ice bucket and that bottled cocktails encouraged people to venture out past their usual wine and beer. And for those who had never had a particular cocktail, this allowed them to sample one without committing to a full glass and then discovering that they didn't like it. And to have some of both without suffering the effects of overdoing it.

Cheers!

Genius! I love the fact that you recycled your mother's pressure canner - which is brimful of family memories, stories, and fine food - into an ice bucket. I also love your idea of preparing bottles of pre-mixed cocktails. Bring on the next party!

We were prepared to pull out the sleeping bags and make up the spare beds if need be...or would the past tense be "need been?" I'm happy to say that everyone was well behaved and responsible.

If you're worried about your guests' drinking habits--or your own--then maybe just fill the bottles once and put ice water in those pitchers. ;-)

Cheers!
